This Woman is Changing the World – One Doll at a Time

What is feminism? Wikipedia defines it as: “a range of political movements, ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve political, economic, personal, and social equality of sexes.”

But for me, It has always been the ability to see myself as a human being, before my gender. Some women, wants their daughters to be able to do that too, and are starting from the dolls our society is selling them – with a heavy makeup, and unnatural body proportions.

Tree Change Dolls™ are the creations of Tasmanian artist Sonia Singh. Sonia started remaking dolls as a little craft project , but it went viral and made her business grow and reach many other moms who wanted to take part in this change with her.

Sonia encourages people to upcycle their own dolls and even offers a DIY information page with guidelines. Her beautiful dolls are offered in her Etsy store, along with knitting kits for cloth making.
